The R.E.D. Team
Following McCormick ambulance emergency deployment into the gulf coast to assist in the disaster management of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, It was decided that a team of emergency deployment specialists were necessary.
The Deployment Specialist is part of a hand-selected team. These individuals are highly trained for proper deployment, use, and maintenance of all McCormick Ambulance emergency equipment. RED team members are the only individuals in the company authorized to deploy and operate our specialty equipment. RED team members are the first line of employees called upon to respond to isolated and wide-scale disasters regardless of location.
Selection
Following the interview selection, each candidate is trained to McCormick’s highest standards. This is accomplished through a series of comprehensive classes and hands-on training sessions. Following successful completion of the training and testing process, candidates are assigned to the RED team. Following a short probation, each member will be issued a training certificate as well as an identification card and uniform pins that only RED team members may posses. Continuous participation in simulations and testing is mandatory to remain a member of the RED team. All training and testing time is on a voluntary basis and thus is not a paid event. Actual deployment however is fully paid.
